change to Classified Ads section...
From now on, if a member has several
sales to submit at one time, the email announcing the sales to the macTALK
list will be sent AFTER the last item has been submitted and will detail all
the sales made by that member in the one email. This is to prevent the list
from being bombarded by a string of emails all on the same subject on the
same day, and to keep details of the sales all in one place, with clickable
links to each individual sale ad.
08.01.06 - Yet
more interactive functions added to website...
The functions whereby the user can edit, delete,
or update the status of their submissions is pretty much completed. From today
these facilities are available in the Classifieds Section (sales, wants, freebies
and swapshop); the Interactive Section (SIGs, FAQs, tips and links); the Member
Services Section (profiles, feedback, notices); and the File Library. That
is twelve different areas! Please use them!
19.12.05 - More
interactive functions added to website...
The overhaul has continued almost full-time for over
a month! The latest improvements include the addition of interactive functions
whereby the user can edit, delete, or update the status of their submissions.
The first section to get this treatment today is the Classifieds
: For Sale section, but other sections will have this functionality added
over the next few days. From today, however, members who have submitted 'for
sale', 'swap' or 'freebie' ads can withdraw them, edit them, add or change
pictures, prices, etc, move them to other listing categories, and otherwise
edit descriptions, and so on. Successful sales will also be counted to give
a running total of how many sales have completed through macTALK.
21.11.05 - First
big overhaul of macTALK website...
...just after the fourth anniversary of the creation
of macTALK!
In an attempt to make the website more useful to macTALK members after a disappointing launch, several improvements are being made. This is an ongoing process for a few weeks from October until the middle of November. Several improvements and bug-fixes across the whole site, including new navigation system, removal of space constraints, and a more unified "look-and-feel".

- The old (topica) MacTalk List now closed...
Nine members retaining their subscriptions in order
to have access to the old archives. Everyone else deleted.
17.06.05 - The
macTALK 'HELP' section...
Although the HELP & SUPPORT section will be a
constantly updating area, as new helpfiles are added, today it became operational
and lost the tag "under construction". Many of the most asked questions
have been added first, but I will be glad to get any suggestions of HELP topics
as they crop up to you. Please email me at admin at mactalk.org.uk with your
suggestions or questions.
